Prince William and Duchess Kate were busy celebrating St. David’s Day in Wales today.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked the holiday, which honors the patron saint of the country, by visiting the Welsh towns of Abergavenny and Blaenavon.
First on their schedule, the couple stopped by Pant Farm, a goat farm that has been providing milk to a local cheese producer for the past 20 years. There, they met with farmers Gary and Jess Yeomans to discuss the challenges and opportunities the farming sector currently faces. They also met with other industry representatives to learn how agriculture underpins the local economy.
Kate wore a forest-green Seeland Woodcock outdoors jacket, black skinny jeans, a red cashmere stole from Pickett London, and a pair of brown Blundstones for the visit. William also wore a green coat and a pair of black trousers.
Afterward, the couple headed to Abergavenny Market, where they were greeted by crowds of well-wishers.
The duchess swapped her outdoorsy gear for another forest-green ensemble, this time wearing a long coat and turtleneck accompanied by a base layer of black skinny jeans and a pair of black suede ankle booties. Meanwhile, William changed into a navy blue overcoat and a light-blue button-up.
Next, the two headed to Blaenavon Hwb, a community youth center that supports more than 600 locals. There, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge heard from young people at the center who opened up about the economic hardship their town has struggled with for the past three decades. They additionally met with young ambassadors from the World Heritage Youth Ambassador program, which works to empower young voices through cultural education and workshops.
Finally, the two honored Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee by planting a tree in Blaenavon as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy, a new planting initiative that invites people across the United Kingdom to “plant a tree for the Jubilee.”
