Doja Cat is done with the music industry, she told fans in a string of heated tweets.
On Thursday, the “Say So” singer tweeted, “This s-it ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
Earlier that evening, she had a show in Brazil, and apologized to fans for not giving it her all.
“I don’t think I gave Brazil a good enough show tonight at all and I’m sorry for that but thank you guys for coming out I f-cking love you and thank god we got another show tomorrow I promise I’ll do better,” she wrote.
The concert came two days after she had to cancel her show in Paraguay due to a storm which caused severe flooding. After she raved about Brazil, Twitter fans from Paraguay accused her of not caring about their country.
Fans also criticized her for not saying hi to the many who waited for her in the rain outside Paraguay’s Asunciónico festival and outside her hotel just to see her.
Doja replied in the Twitter thread, “I’m not sorry.”
She also posted a screenshot of her horoscope from a website on her Instagram Story, seemingly alluding to her feud with fans. It read, “Unexpected opposition will come to you in waves. Your defenses are already weakened by the climactic point you are at in your career. The last thing you need is extra aggression from others. Unfortunately, you are going to get it – so be prepared.”
When fans continued to ask her to apologize to Paraguay, she said she had “moved on” and had decided to just “let everybody be mad” at her.
She also tweeted that she will never take photos with fans again after she wraps her world tour.
“It’s gone and i don’t give a f-ck anymore i f-ckin quit i can’t wait to f-cking disappear and i don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and i’m a f-cking fool for ever thinking i was made for this this is a f-cking nightmare unfollow me,” she wrote.
Following her tweets Thursday night, Doja changed her Twitter name to “i quit,” and this morning, as fans wondered if she just made the comments in the heat of the moment, she changed it to “i quit still.”
This afternoon, she posted a video of her jokingly singing while getting her makeup and hair done for her show. “Im bouta bust,” she wrote in the caption.
