Duchess Kate loves basic, classic style , and it doesn’t have more classic than a blazer.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to London’s Southwark district to meet with parents and children from PACT (Parents and Children Together), a community organization that looks to improve the health and development of children and their own caretakers—a cause close to the royal’s heart . Kate met with members and volunteers during their weekly MumSpace meeting, which aspires to create a support network for mother and father raising babies and toddlers.

For the outing, Kate paired her statement black-and-white plaid blazer with a basic black top and a pair of black tapered trousers through L. K. Bennett. Components included a black-and-gold belt, a blue pendant necklace from Astley Clarke, a stainless steel watch by Cartier, pearl drop earrings along with a diamond-studded ring by Annoushka, and black suede pumping systems from Gianvito Rossi.
